Die Baureihen 219 und 229Eher bekannt als "U Boot" ist die ehemalige Baureihe 119 der Reichsbahn. Von 1976 bis 1985, werden 200 Dieselloks der Baureihe 219 aus Rumnien importiert. Erzwungen durch den Rat der gegenseitigen Wirtschaftshilfe im Ostblock, der einen Bau von Grodieselloks in der DDR untersagte. Die stranflligen Maschinen mussten erst einmal bahnfest gemacht werden.
